About Fay

Hello. I am Fay.

I spent most of my working life in business, helping other people build things. Yoga, meditation and feng shui were the part I kept for myself, and Elevated Living is where I finally share it.

I am over 50, I am not religious, and I am curious about nearly everything.

The long version

Homes first.

My feng shui practice began as Blue Avalon, a home and life design firm. I did full house audits, room by room, taught workshops and published a monthly journal that went out to about a thousand readers. Later it became Today's Spirit.

Along the way I wrote a shelf of workshop books: Introduction to Feng Shui, Feng Shui for Prosperity, Feng Shui for Romance and Feng Shui Gardening. Every February I wrote a guide to the Chinese year ahead.

Then the mat and the cushion.

I trained as a yoga teacher and kept going until I held the E-RYT 500, the senior registration for teachers. I am also a certified meditation professional and a certified Pilates professional. I have taught mudra and meditation workshops, an introduction to Buddhism, and a great many people who were sure they could not sit still.

For years I owned a studio, The Clarity Centre, a Yoga Alliance registered school where I trained new yoga teachers through a 250 hour programme.

Why this, why now.

After 50 the big questions stop being theoretical. What do I do with the time? What do I keep? What can go? I do not have tidy answers. I have a lot of practice at asking them, a pile of very good books, and a strong preference for doing this in company.

I also run Too Late My Ass, for people starting something new after 50. That is the loud side. This is the quiet one.
