He read it again and again through his life, and a copy was handed to everyone at his memorial. It was first published in 1946 and it is the story of an Indian monk who brought yoga and meditation to America.
It is also full of miracles, saints and claims that a sensible adult will raise an eyebrow at. That is what makes it a good first book. We are going to read it with open minds and our eyebrows where they are.
Eight weeks, about six chapters a week.
Any edition will do. If yours has 49 chapters, read the last one in week eight.
